When you have twenty-one years of experience in the music industry, people tend to try to put you in a proverbial box. Hanson has been labeled time and again as everything from a "boy band" to a one hit wonder. Rather than adopting those stigmas, they've fought to create music they love and believe in. ...Hanson pretty well dissolves any expectations critics held for Anthem. It has a harder exterior than they've ever upheld, and completely spans the spectrum of genres that serve the album's theme. It's a collaboration of proper rock, soul, and harmony." --Music Underground

Three years after Shout It Out's release and tension that nearly caused the band to cease making music, Hanson releases what I think is their strongest, most passionate, and most fantastic album to date. It's full of rock, groove, soul, and some of Hanson's best harmonies and songwriting. If you're a fan of Hanson, you need this album. If you are NOT a fan of Hanson...you NEED this album!

Like Shout It Out Hanson decided to release a series of Anthem packages to enhance the listening experience. (Package descriptions/images coming soon!)

#818-613-042-2
Release Date: June 18, 2013

Standard US release, 12 tracks.

The bonus track is called an "encore", a reference to Anthem's concert-audience theme.

Interestingly, this album draws some parallels to Hanson's first album Middle of Nowhere: the back cover artwork is very similiar (black & white, similiar poses); the "encore" is actually track 21. Tracks 13-20 are silence, very similiar to Middle of Nowhere's bonus track, Man From Milwaukee.

"21" could also signify Hanson's 21 years as a band, or also age 21, an indirect reference to Hanson's new beer MMMHops.
