Great Divide

CD Count: 1

Great Divide is a charity single that Hanson released to iTunes in late 2006, and later became the "anthem" song for "The Walk" album and tour. In Hanson's words:

"We were recently in Africa to see for ourselves the extent of the HIV/AIDs crisis and to work on ideas to help enact a solution. We were inspired by some amazing people, including the doctors and nurses at Perinatal HIV Research Unit in Soweto. With the help of a local South African choir and a choir in Mozambique, we recorded the song Great Divide. We hope you'll listen to the song, watch the video, and help save some lives by doing something as simple as downloading the song from iTunes. All proceeds go to the PRHU in Soweto."

Although the song was not heavily promoted to mainstream radio, a few stations have picked up the song, most notably Chicago alt-rock station WKQX (Q101), who played the song anonymously for a month without telling listeners who the artist was.
